Hello,
Firstly I need to apologise as it has been a
few weeks since we last talked, not what I intended but all I’ll explain more
later on, I've had an exciting few weeks (which involved snow last week). So
since I've been so busy the blog has to take a back seat, but I am back and
unless something else happens I will be posting a new blog post once every two
weeks (on Monday as usual)
The first reason for my blog absence is that I
have had my first ever Etsy order!!!! This was so exciting (I've wanted to
shout it from the roof tops for ages). Now as you’ll know I have had few orders
already but theses have come from family and their friends but this was my
first ever Etsy order (I love hearing the beep of my Etsy app). I also think it
made my mum very happy as she was getting a bit worried as to why I hadn't had
an Etsy order. But I am now happy to announce that I have had a few orders on
there and one of them was also my first ever international order. Coming from a
small town in Shropshire which most people even in England don’t know where it
is, it is amazing that something I have made myself would end up in America. When
I started my little business I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would
get an order from America. So to anyone who has ordered from me, liked any of
my pictures on Instagram or reads this blog I just want to say thank you so
much. You’ll never know how much your support and following means to me.
Yay i am now officially an Etsy seller.
Some of my orders ready to be delivered.
I have also been busy making some custom
orders which if you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen. I am
open to any requests you might have and I will try my best to fulfil it unless I
don’t have the correct tools to do so. My first request came from the picture
of my mini Christmas stockings in which I have decorated it with Christmas
characters which you can see below. When the customer saw it they loved them
and asked if it would be possible to actually put the Santa, reindeer and
penguin on the stockings. As you will see below I was more than happy to do so.

I
was also asked if I did any other colours and again I was more than happy to do
so, so I sent them a picture of the colours I have available so that they could
then choose the exact colour that they wanted, and as you will see below they
choose to go with a white and grey/silver theme. Whilst knitting these I was
annoyed that I hadn't thought of it myself, I loved the final outcome. But as this
is my first collection I chose to work with a limited Christmassy colour
pallet, but perhaps next year I will experiment more with different colour
ways.

As well as being busy knitting lots of orders,
last week we also had some snow! Due to this I was too busy enjoying it all to
write a blog. In my family it is a running joke that it doesn't snow because of
my dog Barney (I know it’s a funny name but he was a rescue dog, so he came
with it but I actually love his name). In the four plus years that we have had
him, we have never had snow and all I have wanted is to see him in proper snow.
Then last week I finally got my wish. Now Barney is a bit of a princess he
hates going out in the cold and rain, so I was shocked that he actually liked
the snow. He wasn't too keen when it was actually snowing but once it had stopped
falling he loved running in it. This was really cute as he has quite small so
it was like he was trying to jump on top of it. As much I had really wanted
snow, this was also the first time I had ever experienced the bad side to snow
(well except from not having school cancelled of course). Due to everyone
virtually being snowed in this meant that my yarn delivery (for the grey and
white order) was delayed. I usually make sure that I have enough yarn in stock
but as I had never used this colour before I had to order it especially, but
due to the snow my delivery was a lot later than it usual. However you’ll be
happy to know that I ended up getting it done in time, and they will be waiting
for Santa to visit.

His coat was a bit tight so he wasn't too happy (he has bad skin as hes allergic to all sorts of things so he is on steroids, which is difficult for his weight).

Doggie walk in the snow ( it was very early in the morning so we had the whole town to ourselves and could walk on the road).

Snow just makes everything even more pretty.
Beautiful trees.
This was the most that i measured in cm (over a couple of days).
This is our frozen pond, don't worry we no longer have any fish in it, the neighbors cat got to them all but it is now used for frogs and newts (lots of baby newts) but they all left for the winter.
You are now all up to date with what I have
been doing and this hopefully explains my recent absence. (I am now an official
Etsy seller).
My next blog post is most likely going to be
in the New Year. So I wanted to say Happy Christmas to you all or whatever you
celebrate, I hope you all have a great time over the holidays. I hope that Santa
gets to fill all the Christmas stockings that I have made and I hope everyone
has a Happy New Year. Thank you all for supporting me over this last year and
hopefully we can all have a great next year together as well.
As always thank you so much for reading,
Love Karmann Jean
