Hello,
Happy bank holiday everyone, I hope you all have had
and are having a good bank holiday weekend and are enjoying this lovely
sunshine that we have been having. Although I hope you’re not too sun burnt
like me, I currently have lobster coloured arms, no joke they are very red. I’m
just glad its blog day today and not knitting day, as I don’t think it be able
to do it.
I also need to apologise as I didn’t expect my little
break from blogging to last so long, but as I will explain in my next blog
post, I had quite a few setbacks and errors with my latest product, hence why
there wasn’t any blog posts in April. However I’m happy to say that for those
who like my blogs I am back and I am hoping to go back to posting once every
two weeks. My plan so far is for the next blog post to be about my trails and
errors of my new product which I will explain about in this blog and then the
one after that will be about what I have learnt about intarsia knitting and
hopefully me showing you what not to do so you can learn from my mistakes.
Anyway back to today’s
blog post. If you didn’t see yesterday I added two new listings to my Etsy
shop, which are knitted letters/initials inside frames and I’m using this blog
post to explain more about them and show you some more pictures. I’m going to
be breaking down the information into little sections so that you can only read
what you want to know and I’ll also put the links to the listings here (there
are separate listings for the black and white frames).

Background information/where the idea came from:
When thinking about what to make next, all I knew
that I wanted to make was something that was obviously knitting but could be
sold all year round. For example we are in spring/summer and not many people
tend to by knitted hats, so I wanted something different that was still knitted
but not associated with winter. Now I can’t fully remember how I came up with
the frames idea but I knew that I wanted to do something to do with initials/names.
As you can imagine I am the type of person who never had any personalised
objects when growing up, nothing ever had Karmann on it, not even spelt the
other ways that you can spell my name (what I call the wrong ways - haha). I
was always the type of girl to run up to the personalised name racks and try to
find my name, I would even look for if it was spelt with a C but no my name was
never there. This is actually one of the reasons why when I was little I didn’t
like my name; I wanted to be named something like Amy so that I could have all
the pencils, headbands ect…with my name on them. However as I have grown up
that soon changed and I now love having
a different name yes its annoying when people call you the wrong name but I
personally don’t know anyone called Karmann let alone Karmann Jean, which makes
me so happy that I am able to also call my little business this as well. Anyway
back to the story, the next best thing for me was to have my initial on things,
so to me having things with K's on them were really important and special. Even
now I love having things with my name on so I thought that having knitted
letters in frames would be a good idea, as I know that I am not the only
persons who likes having their name or initials on things. Now I don’t want to
give too much away but for me the knitted letters in a frame is just the beginning
and I am planning on doing some more knitted things within frames so please
bear with me and keep your eyes open over the next few weeks to see what I put
in a frame next.
About/Design:
I feel like there isn’t really much I can say about
this item as its pretty self-explanatory it is just a knitted letter with in a
frame. Yes I know I am meant to big up my products but I don’t really know how
else to explain them.
-
They are
available in a black or white frame and you also get to pick what colours you want
for the actual letter and its background. This way you can then match your
frame to the person or room it is intended for.
-
The
knitting is done via intarsia by me using my knitting machine. There will be a
blog post about intarsia knitting soon, as I have recently taught myself how to
do it and I want to show you my mistakes so that you can learn from them.
-
The
frame itself can be hung up or self standing.
-
They are
perfect for a desk or shelf as well as the perfect wall decoration. They can
also be used to spell out words or names.
Like I said before there’s not that much to explain as you can
really see what it is by looking at the pictures below – sorry I’m not very
good at describing things.
Colours:
You get the choice of either having a white or a
black frame which comes with a white mount inside. You also get to chose your letter
and back ground colours. Below is a brief explanation as to the colours available
but the images (below) are probably better for showing them. If you like my
knitted frames but none of my colours match your house theme then please
message me and we can discuss colours further.

Price:
These frames are £12 plus postage which will be
shown below.
Delivery:
Postage for the UK is £2.90, unless you live in Bridgnorth
then please message me instead of ordering through Etsy as I can hand deliver
to you for free. Unfortunately at the time being these frames are only available
for the UK, until I can sort out overseas prices, although if you would really
like a frame please message me where you are from and I can look into postage
further for you.
Processing time:
Over on Etsy I have put that the processing time
(making time) for these frames are 1-2 weeks the same as my hats but like my
hats I always aim to have them sent out as soon as possible. I mainly say 1-2
weeks just in case I have a back log of orders or I have to put in an order for
yarn, which can take a few days to arrive as I don’t have any yarn shops or haberdasheries
by me.
Where you can buy from:
You can either shop from the Etsy shop (links will
be below) or if you live in Bridgnorth then message me as this way you can save
on delivery charges. All my links will be at the end of my blog post for ways
that you can get in contact with me.

I just want to say thank you for all your support recently, especially
over this blog break I really appreciate it, as I genuinely didn’t think it
would last as long as it did, so thank you. I am sorry that is blog post
has taken so long to arrive but I promise that I am back and I am going to try
to keep posting on here once every two weeks. If that changes though I will let
you know over on my Instagram, probably the insta-storys to make sure you are
following me. I must admit though that I have really missed blogging, although I
do feel like I can’t write, so I’m sorry if this post isn’t any good, I feel a
bit rusty.
Thank you as always for reading, and welcome back to my blog.
Love Karmann Jean.
